AI scams have made that fear real. They are no longer fringe. They are psychological warfare and a trillion-dollar criminal industry.
For Bitdefender’s latest US consumer campaign, we wanted to challenge the narrative that blames victims and instead shift focus onto the industry and the tools it uses. In collaboration with Territory Studio, we created They Wear Our Faces, a film that turns the tools of deception against themselves.
Using generative AI, deepfakes, synthetic voices and manipulated likenesses, we built an unnervingly realistic world that mirrors the tactics scammers now use to exploit human trust.
The result is a haunting portrayal of how technology designed to imitate us is now learning to betray us and a reminder that Bitdefender remains one of the few forces capable of fighting back.
